Machinery manufacturer Krones awarded Panalpina the distribution of spare parts from Europe into the Asia Pacific and Greater China area. The contract will involve several thousand air freight shipments per year and the construction of a distribution warehouse in Bangkok, Thailand.
Krones, headquartered in Neutraubling, Germany, is the market leader in planning, developing and manufacturing machines and complete lines for the fields of process technology, bottling, canning, packaging, and intralogistics. Since Krones machines are tailor-made for their customers, the range of spare parts is enormous which results in highly challenging supply chains.
“We chose Panalpina primarily for their excellent uplift capabilities, professionalism, but also for their personal and honest approach. Furthermore their ability to identify ways and methods which will create value for our supply chain were convincing for Krones,” said Christine Raab, head of logistics at Krones AG.
