London, UK, 27th April 2015 – Larry Coyne, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and founder of all-cargo carrier Coyne Airways, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Coyne, who founded Coyne Airways 22 years ago, picked up the Cargo Airline of the Year award at a dinner in central London, UK, on Saturday, 25th April 2015.

“I could not have known when I set up Coyne Airways from a spare room at home that we would grow to be in the top 100 cargo carriers serving thousands of customers around the globe,” said Coyne.

“Not bad for an airline that does not actually own any aircraft.”

Coyne Airways operates to some of the world’s most difficult to reach destinations, including the Caspian, Afghanistan, Iraq, and more recently Africa.

“I am immensely proud of Coyne Airways and grateful to all of our wonderful staff, past and present, without whom it wouldn’t be the company it is today,” said Coyne.

“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me along the way – there are too many of you to list, but I want to thank you all personally.”

Coyne received his award from Jonathan Conway, Divisional Senior Vice-President – UAE Airport Operations, DNATA, who said he was not just an inspiration, but had also brought passion and innovation to the industry.

Coyne is vocal spokesman for the industry, and is a former Chairman of the International Air Cargo Association (TIACA).

Cargo Airline of the Year is an annual event celebrating excellence in the airfreight industry and is hosted by Air Cargo News.
