Hactl ships 69 show-jumpers from Belgium to Hong Kong.Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals has handled the largest horse shipment on a single flight in its history.
The shipment of 63 show-jumpers were flown in from Liege, Belgium, as arranged by Lufthansa Cargo on a B747 chartered freighter, to take part in Longines Hong Kong Masters at AsiaWorld-Expo from Feb. 28 to March 2, Hong Kong’s first international show jumping event.
On arrival in Hong Kong, the horses were unloaded from the aircraft and transferred to Hactl’s livestock handling center. The horses were transferred in their air stalls to the center on a gently sloping ramp, which is essential to prevent leg injuries, onto air-conditioned horse boxes arranged by Hong Kong Jockey Club.
