DHL Express has opened a distribution and consolidation center in Hong Kong near to Hong Kong International Airport.
The 4,500 square meter Tsing Yi Service Center was built at a cost of $4.5 million (HK$34.7 million) and will be used to consolidate shipments for distribution across DHL’s global network.
It will complement existing international centers in Hong Kong in Cheung Sha Wan and Tsuen by adding an estimated110 tons of outbound and 50 tons of inbound capacity per day.
DHL Express has also launched a new time-definite delivery service to the U.S. from Hong Kong via the company’s recently added round-the-world flight from Hong Kong to Los Angeles. The ’10.30’ service promises guaranteed delivery to major U.S. business centers by 10:30 a.m. with pick-up the previous evening in Hong Kong extended to 10:00 p.m.
