Japan’s All Nippon Airways Co. said its international cargo volume grew for the fourth consecutive month in May on a year-over-year basis, rising 7.1 percent to 43,591 tons. The year-over-year pace of growth was faster than 1.7 percent in April.
ANA’s domestic cargo volume grew for the first time in three months in May on a year-over-year basis, increasing 5.6 percent to 36,260 tons.
Meanwhile, rival Japan Airlines said its international cargo volume grew year-over-year for the fourth successive month in May, rising 4.3 percent to 19,826 tons. The year-over-year growth pace was unchanged from April.
JAL’s domestic cargo volume rose for the second straight month in May year-over-year, increasing 10.2 percent to 30,811 tons. The year-over-year growth quickened from 3.4 percent in April. JAL’s domestic cargo volume declined for 21 months in a row until March on a year-over-year basis.
ANA and JAL both release monthly cargo and passenger data without giving any analysis.
