Lufthansa Cargo Charter Expands in Canada

Lufthansa Cargo Charter boosted its presence in North America by signing an agreement with Airline Network Services, a U.S.-based general sales agent, to cover the Canadian market.

Lufthansa Cargo’s wholly-owned air broking subsidiary already has an agreement with Texas-based Platinum Air Cargo covering the U.S. air charter market.

ANS has several leading cargo carriers under contract, including Singapore Airlines Cargo, Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Aeromexico Cargo. Ana Gerber, based in ANS’ Montreal office, will represent Lufthansa Cargo Charter in Canada.  The agreement follows Lufthansa Cargo Charter’s recent decision to rely more on GSA sales partners in specific markets.

“With Platinum Air Cargo in Texas and now ANS in Canada we have made a good start in two important markets. There is more to come,” said Reto Hunziker, managing director of Lufthansa Cargo Charter.

“Especially in times that are a bit uncertain you don’t have to grow with your own staff .. that’s where we come in,” said Jens Tubbesing, ANS Chief Executive.
