IAG Cargo, created from the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo, will launch a cargo service between London Heathrow and Chengdu in southwest China, effective Sept. 22.
The Boeing 777 service will depart Heathrow on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 3:30 p.m., arriving in Chengdu at 8:55 the following day. Return flights will depart Chengdu on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:55, arriving at Heathrow at 3 p.m.
“Over the last few years we have seen a migration in manufacturing from the Yangtze River Delta to the Sichuan Province in China, centered on its capital city, Chengdu,” said John Cheetham, regional commercial manager for Asia-Pacific and India at IAG Cargo.
