Emirates SkyCargo to Begin Its Own Vietnam Service

Emirates SkyCargo will offer its own freight capacity out of Vietnam in June, launching a service between Ho Chi Minh City and Dubai.

Since 2005, Emirates has partnered with other airlines in cargo services from Ho Chi Minh, but the launch of a new daily passenger service on June 4 will enable the airline’s cargo division to offer some 240 metric tons of weekly bellyhold capacity. A further 80 metric tons of cargo capacity will be added in October when a Boeing 777-300ER enters service on the lane, replacing an Airbus 330-200.

Ram Menen, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of cargo, said Vietnam is “enjoying a period of growth” and the new service would help boost international connections, “helping it build on this momentum.”
