DB Schenker has signed a deal in which the forwarding giant will ship around one third of its air freight exports out of China through one terminal at Hong Kong International Airport.
Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited, the autonomous road feeder and added-value logistics services arm of Hactl, HKIA’s largest cargo freight terminal operator, will handle DB Schenker’s cargo through its export handling center at the airport.
Soren Poulsen, DB Schenker’s managing director for Hong Kong and South China, said the deal with Hacis would further boost airport handling services and speed. Cargo traffic through HKIA in June rose marginally from May and up 4.1 percent year-over-year.
