Outsourced aircraft and aviation operating service provider Atlas Air Worldwide announced that dispatchers of its subsidiaries, Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, have ratified a five-year collective bargaining agreement.
The company’s dispatchers are responsible for planning and monitoring the progress of aircraft during flight and, along with the pilot in command, are legally responsible for the safety of a flight.
Negotiations with Atlas and Polar dispatchers and their representatives from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters began in 2009, said John Dietrich, the company’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.
