Japan’s All Nippon Airways Co. said that its international cargo volume grew for the sixth consecutive month in July on a year-over-year basis, rising 2.7 percent to 43,523 tons. The year-over-year pace of growth was slightly faster than 1.4 percent in June.
The volume of cargo ANA carried on its international routes in the first four months of fiscal 2012, which started on April 1, totaled 174,631 tons, up 3.2 percent from a year earlier.
ANA’s domestic cargo volume fell for the second straight month in July on a year-over-year basis, dropping 5.0 percent to 40,848 tons. The year-over-year pace of decline was slightly slower than 6.0 percent in June.
The carrier’s domestic cargo volume in the first four months of the current fiscal year amounted to 151,430 tons, down 2.2 percent from a year earlier.
Meanwhile, rival Japan Airlines Corp. said that its international cargo volume grew for the sixth successive month in July on a year-over-year basis, rising 3.0 percent to 21,026 tons. But the year-over-year pace of increase slowed from 9.2 percent in June.
The volume of cargo JAL carried on its international routes in the first four months of fiscal 2012 totaled 82,321 tons, up 5.2 percent from a year earlier.
JAL’s domestic cargo volume rose for the fourth month in a row in July on a year-over-year basis, increasing 5.9 percent to 35,830 tons. The year-over-year pace of growth slowed from 8.6 percent in June.
The carrier’s domestic cargo volume in the first four months of the current fiscal year amounted to 128,016 tons, up 6.9 percent from the same period last year.
