ANA, JAL International Cargo Volumes Up in December

Japan’s All Nippon Airways Co. said that its international cargo volume grew for the 11th consecutive month in December on a year-on-year basis, soaring 9.3 percent to 51,804 tons.

ANA’s domestic cargo volume also rose for the third month in a row in December on a year-on-year basis, increasing 6.7 percent to 52,826 tons.

Meanwhile, rival Japan Airlines Corp. said that its international cargo volume grew for the 11th successive month in December on a year-on-year basis as well, rising 2.5 percent to 21,308 tons.

But JAL’s domestic cargo volume fell for the second straight month in December, sinking 6.2 percent from a year earlier to 38,545 tons.

ANA and JAL both release monthly cargo, as well as passenger, figures without giving any analysis.
