Air France-KLM ceded more air cargo market share to its European rivals in November as freight traffic declined 5.4 percent from the same month in 2011 as the Franco-Dutch carrier reduced freighter flights further.
The carrier trimmed capacity by 5.2 percent from November 2011, squeezing the load factor by 0.2 percentage points to 68.1 percent.
Unit revenue, excluding the impact of currency fluctuations, was stable compared with November 2011.
The Asia-Pacific network posted the biggest decline — 11 percent — but a 14.6 percent dive in capacity helped boost the load factor by 3.3 points to 77 percent.
The Americas region held up better, with traffic declining 3.2 percent. But a 1.3 percent increase in capacity lowered the load factor by 3.2 points to 72.5 percent.
IAG, the merged British Airways-Iberia carrier, posted a 1.7 percent year-on-year decline in November cargo traffic.
