Air France-KLM carried 3.4 percent less cargo in March than a year ago as traffic fell sharply on its previously resilient Americas network.
Europe’s largest scheduled cargo airline trimmed capacity by 0.6 percent from March 2010 as it continued to rein in its freighter operations. The load factor was down two percentage points to 69.2 percent.
Traffic in the Americas region declined 6.3 percent from a year ago on 0.5 percent less capacity. Asia-Pacific shipments fell 2.8 percent on a 3.3 percent reduction in capacity.
Africa-Middle East routes bucked the trend with traffic growing 4.5 percent on a 7.3 percent increase in capacity.
