Airlines for America Congratulates Marion Blakey, Recipient of the 2013 Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy

WASHINGTON, September 24, 2013 – Airlines for America (A4A) the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, congratulated Marion Blakey, former Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator and current President and Chief Executive Officer of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), for receiving the 2013 Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy for significant public service of enduring value to aviation in the United States.

“Marion Blakey’s drive and passion to improve our nation’s aviation sector has had a tremendous impact in making air travel safer, more cost effective and accessible to millions of Americans,” said A4A President and CEO Nicholas E. America needs a cohesive National Airline Policy that will support the integral role the nation’s airlines play in connecting people and goods globally, spur the nation’s economic growth and create more high-paying jobs.
