40 years in service for Kuehne + Nagel

Schindellegi / CH, April 11, 2011 – On Monday, Kuehne + Nagel had a good reason to celebrate: Reinhard Lange, CEO of the worldwide operating logistics group, has been in service for 40 years. Profound expertise, management competence, team spirit and commitment to the company characterise Reinhard Lange.

A ceremony was held at the Kuehne + Nagel headquarters in Schindellegi to celebrate this special anniversary. In his address, Karl Gernandt, Executive Vice Chairman of Kuehne + Nagel International AG, described Lange’s professional career, which encompasses responsibilities like heading the import division at Kuehne + Nagel in Bremen, being responsible for the seafreight business in the Asia Pacific region, member of the Management Board of the German Kuehne + Nagel organisation, Managing Director of Kuehne + Nagel Canada, before being elected to the Management Board of Kuehne + Nagel International AG. After successfully managing the Group’s global sea- and airfreight business, Reinhard Lange was appointed to the CEO position in 2009. Karl Gernandt stated, internally and externally Lange is recognised for his specialised knowledge, customer focus and his loyalty to the company.

Klaus-Michael Kuehne, Chairman of the Board of Directors and majority shareholder, thanked Reinhard Lange for his significant contributions to the successful development of the Kuehne + Nagel Group. According to the chairman, Lange has taken on all challenges with dedication and has accomplished outstanding results. In particular, Kuehne mentioned Lange’s effective management during the crisis year 2009 and the successful worldwide implementation of the Group’s growth strategy.
