The third-party logistics industry has adjusted its cost structure to meet the decreased freight demand and pricing to maintain its margins. Some within the industry are expanding as shippers shed jobs or other 3PLs leave the field. Like other small businesses, however, 3PLs face uncertainty over taxes and government policy.
